Raison D'etre
In the early 1980's I installed my first thin rubber membrane roofing system and it did not last long enough to get paid. It was new construction and all of the other trades made mincemeat of the new thin rubber membrane roof. The owner did not want to pay for a leaky roof. The Architect blamed the subcontractors. I wanted extra money to repair all of the leaks. We all stood in a circle blaming each other for the leaky roof. The only one missing from the circle of blame was the thin rubber membrane roofing system manufacturer. They had already been paid and they were not refunding their money. I never got paid!!
At that moment, I realized that I could not be alone. The thin rubber membrane roofing systems have their place in the market, but high traffic roofs are not one of them. I immediately began researching roofing systems and how they were manufactured. I used my education in chemistry to chemically engineer a roofing system that would stand the test of time. We installed our first heavy duty Co Polymer Alloy Bluestone Premium Roofing System two years later on the Clarostat Manufacturing building in 1984 in Dover, NH.
Since 1984 Bluestone Premium Roofing Systems have been installed all over New England. We have 39, 38, 37, 36, 35, 34, etc., etc., year old roofs that have never leaked and are still going strong.
